There are some fascinating yet truly disturbing videos online about nuclear testing and other aspects of the Cold War. Some are listed as follows:

Crossroads Nuclear Testing - a short, narrated video that truly shows the methodical testing of nuclear weapons after World War II. There are some disturbing images and narration regarding the impact of this testing on animals and humans. This video is 42 minutes long (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HkLZekOZLU).

Duck and Cover: This 9 minute video was an educational video about how to protrect yourself from a nuclear explosion. This video is also the basis for a in-class activity on 5/28-29. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2kdpAGDu8s)

Duck and Cover parody in Legos: I couldn't resist adding this clip to our list of videos since it is based on the previous Duck and Cover video. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzSXYDdEPIw)

Operation CUE - Here is a two-part video that we saw in class about what the US government is doing to safeguard its citizens in 1955. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zU9lCKDzKSY)

Tiananmen Square  - Thanks to Dylan B. for finding this PBS special on the Tank Man to learn more about the protests at Tiananmen Square in 1989 in China. You can view the entire video online here.
